2002 is almost over, and we won't get another palindromic year for at least another couple of decades. It was a great year for music. And soda. The world was given at least 5 new carbonated beverages, including Vanilla Coke, Red Fusion Dr. Pepper, and Pepsi Blue. Which ones will go the way of Crystal Pepsi? Which ones will become the next Jolt? Oh yeah, and music too. J-Lo released at least three singles about how she is real. And we got to spend the whole summer listening to Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini. Yeah, it was a great year for music.

This time of year is ideal for reflection and taking a personal account of who you are, what you're doing, and where you're going. Ah, but screw that. This time of year is also ideal for bickering, cheap shots, and fighting with the ones you love. Yeah, in order to get you ready for that long trip home for the holidays, fakejazz presents its annual installment of THE LIST, and things got a little nasty, let's say.

Don't forget that THE LIST is also a contest and poll. If you vote for your favorite record of the year (limited to items still on THE LIST, of course), you may win the record ranked highest in the poll that you don't already own. So make sure you enter. Results of the poll will be posted in our next issue.

If you have any questions about the site, please send us an email or stop by our message board. Look for our next issue on January 10th.
